After much work and preparation, the Japan Culture Center/WNY, in partnership with the Castellani Art Museum of Niagara University (CAM), is proud to announce an exhibition showcasing the beautiful work of Sarah Brayer! Sarah, a native of Rochester, has gained international recognition for her washi poured paperworks yet has never had an exhibition in the Western New York area. Her Luminosity series makes use of a photo-luminescent dye in the washi to give the viewer a completely different experience in light and in darkness! For her contributions, Sarah has been designated as a “cultural ambassador”, officially recognized by the Japanese government and we are honored to have this opportunity to bring her work to Western New York.
However, transporting her works, installing necessary equipment, and exhibiting them at a a free gallery is no easy feat! So we’re asking for your help: please consider making a donation to our kickstarter-there are a variety of levels to back and awesome rewards to be had! Please spread the word- we thank you sincerely for your support!
